Sourdough Companion stores your feeding logs, baking records, and wizard progress locally on your device using AsyncStorage. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly use the AI-powered features (starter analysis or recipe analysis/improvement).
When you choose to analyze a photo of your starter, the image is sent to OpenAI's API for processing. The image is used solely to generate your analysis and is not stored by us. OpenAI's data usage is governed by their own privacy policy.

We use RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions. RevenueCat collects an anonymous device identifier and purchase history to manage your subscription status. No personal information (name, email, etc.) is collected or linked to your identity. For more details, see RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
Sourdough Companion features a Creator Hub where approved content creators can share sourdough-related content, recipes, and tips with the community.
Creator Accounts: Creators must log in with a username and password to access the Creator Portal (available both on the web and in the mobile app). Creator accounts are created by our admin team. When logging in, an authentication token is generated and stored locally on your device to maintain your session. This token does not contain personal information and is used solely for authentication.
Creator Data: Creators voluntarily provide profile information (name, email, bio, specialty, social media links) and content (images, recipes, tips, articles) through the Creator Portal. This data is stored in our database and displayed publicly in the Creator Hub within the app. Creators can edit or delete their content at any time through the portal.
Creator Applications: Users can apply to become a creator by submitting their name, email, Instagram handle, website, specialty, and a brief motivation. This information is stored in our database for review by our admin team. Duplicate applications from the same email address are detected and prevented.
Image Uploads: Creators can upload profile images and content images. Images are automatically resized (max 1600px) and compressed for optimal performance. Uploaded images are stored securely in our cloud storage.
Premium Access: Approved creators automatically receive premium access to all app features as part of their creator account.
We do not use any analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. We do not sell, share, or rent your data to third parties.
Our website uses only a single strictly-necessary cookie to keep creators and administrators signed in to their portal after they log in. We do not use any analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies. Because the login cookie is essential to a service you have explicitly requested, no cookie-consent banner is required.
Most app data (feeding logs, baking records, wizard progress) is stored locally on your device. Creator profile data, content, and creator applications are stored on our server database. Device registration data (anonymous device ID, platform, app version) is stored server-side for push notification delivery and usage statistics.
You can delete the app data stored on your device at any time by uninstalling the app, or by using the reset option in the app's settings.
To request deletion of any data we hold on our servers — including your creator account, creator profile and content, creator applications, and anonymous device-registration records — email riseandfeed@myteams.no from the email address linked to your account, or include your creator username or creator code so we can locate the record. We will delete the requested data within 30 days and confirm by email. There is no cost to request deletion. Our app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the app and on this page with an updated date.
